I know you probably don't believe this, but just because it's on TV, does not mean it's true. You know how a commercial makes a certain product look good, often times by making a competing product look bad? This is effective because advertising exeuctives makes a science out of studying and manipulating behavior, beliefs, hopes, desires and needs.
Let me pose this question to you: Do you think the US government has any interest in making Saddam look like a really evil guy? Is it possible that they could hire some really good advertising execs, pay them a fortune, swear them to secrecy, then get them to produce a propaganda film to justify incursions into Saddam's country?
Ever hear of a little film called "reefer madness"? It looks like a joke doesn't it? Consider that was probably their first attempt. They've gotten much better since then.
