You are correct in that green energy is subsidized: so tax payers pay through taxes rather than utility bills. The thing is, taxpayers in 'western world' countries are politically behind green energy.

The other thing to remember is that technology continues to improve the green machinery, so to speak: it will become more feasible, as necessity truly is the mother of invention.

Also, in about 2 years the world will be about 1 million barrels of oil a day short - so there is reason to back green.

Last, but in no way least: the NON oil producing nations are held hostage to the producers (not naming names), which all too often hate and want to destroy them in return, using the money they get for the oil.

It adds up to this: we have to get green. Other than Canada, where is the USA guaranteed to satisfy its energy supply needs? Despite the sad state of things, this is the reality. Global politics are not going to improve any time soon: I believe its going to go much further in the opposite direction. This is the real driver behind green.
