It is important to remember that satellite capabilities are not always revealed due to dual use functionality between civilian and military applications associated with the platform. We have no way of knowing all of the capability of the SIRIUS and Worldspace platforms until components are declassified. Certainly, we all knew that some of the satellite streams were utilized in our defense strategies how much this has helped with costs of system maintenance is unknown. We can talk all day and pretend that we know all of the intricate details but trust me on this, we don't! It is also important to realize that within the past few years we have studied algorithms designed to tackle digital compression issues such as loss-less compression versus others. Digital signals can now be enhanced at the receiving stations with some pseudo super computing input into the raw signal. So with that said, I do believe Siri may have some high end video streaming capabilities. I also believe that there is a suite of new satellite capability that will be revealed from partnering with other providers. The new technologies will knock high definition out of the ballpark, on Mars! LOLOL My field of study in optics has experienced new capabilities three fold in just the last 6 months. It is just a matter of time in my opinion!
