Largest cannabis deal in history goes down

http://pr.cannazine.co.uk/201104201431/green/eco-news/largest-cannabis-deal-in-history-goes-down.html

The company which has covered the fields of southern England with over 90,000 medical cannabis plants in three huge greenhouses has closed a deal which will be recorded as the largest illicit cannabis sale in history when you bear in mind the legal status of cannabis.

For over ten years, fledgling UK biotech firm GW Pharmaceuticals has been developing its cannabis based medicine 'Sativex', and the decade of investment is finally paying off, with some of the biggest pharmaceuticals in existence finally sitting up and taking note of the benefits of cannabis.

Swiss based Novartis is the latest in a long line of pharmaceutical drug manufacturers to sign up with GW Pharmaceuticals, following other notable cannabis vendors such as Otsuka in the US and Bayer, who holds the UK distribution licence for Sativex.

Who Says Money Doesn't Grow on Tree's?

The Novartis deal sees GW receive a $5 million down payment followed by a further $28 million is so called 'mile-stone payments, which come into force when sales achieve certain levels.
In the meantime the UK government still refuses to acknowledge the medical benefits that come with cannabis. And whilst its widely accepted its not all 'good news' with cannabis, European governments and the US administration are already looking at how the medical marijuana market can be better controlled.

Allowing access to those who need the cannabis the most, whilst at the same time offering education and awareness to recreational users.
