Occam's Razor says that CCME is stumbling along groping for a way out of its lies; and that Starr wants nothing more to do with the company, other than to get its money back via its aribitration against CEO.

Your hypothesis involves far too many assumptions for Occam's Razor, such as a willingness if Starr to risk bringing ruin to a company in which it had made a substantial investment.
