What he is refering to is the cokeing coal used to fire the blast furnace to make the iron. No coal No iron. When a smelter slows down there is no need to order more cokeing coal, or iron ore.
GCE-TX is a producer of coal and china is one of its biggest customers. Their share price has dropped buy about 2.00 +.
Think of it in terms of shipping. for what ever reason ships can't get to the port. No ore is going to move. Coal is important to the opperation of making iron same as shipping. Maybe China has a stockpile of ore or steel who know's. Either way they may not be in need of any more for now. The electric blast frunace dosen't use coal but is is extremely expensive to produce the finnished product and is reserved for higher grade product. I hope this helps you to understand.
