Because Boulder, Colorado hired police officers this year with the tax revenue generated by MMJ products. Because Newark & Camden, New Jersey have laid off over 500 police officers hung up on your same "moral" dilemma of smoking what you derogatorily call "pot" and we call "cannabis". Go ahead and stand side by side with those who polish off bottles of Johnny Walker Blue with Black & Mild cigars all day long while persecuting patients seeking a natural medicine for their illnesses and ailments.
Within days of Camden and Newark losing their police forces this past year the violent crime rates soared in those areas. If Camden and Newark were allowed to collect taxes for the sale of MMJ that is being sold there right now on the street and grey market, those police officers would be on their Harley's patrolling the streets. Instead we have a Governor that won't even live in the Governor's mansion, let alone collect taxes on the produce his "Garden State" makes.
Because there is a benefit in law enforcement focusing their efforts on "lethal" things, and letting adults and individuals decide what and what not to do with "non-lethal" things. Government should have NO involvement or control of "non-lethal" things at the expense of overlooking to protect the body public from things that are lethal. Our government should be preventing freaking hi-jackers from another country taking flying lessons and slamming planes into NYC and Washington DC buildings killing 1,000's of people. Our government should have the resources to work with from tax revenue and tariffs from producing the largest cash crop in history. Our government and law enforcement should be focussed on getting us out of these wars and back to actually making stuff in America that works. We are the "bread basket" to the world. New Jersey is the Garden State; the reason it benefits all of us, is because it gives those who are sick and those who were oppressed; FREEDOM!!!
