MWM, the thing that concerns me about Oremex is those darned "surface access rights" at Tejamen that have been an issue for several years, which is why the stock is trading at the same shareprice now as it was in early 2008, down from earlier highs in 2004-2007.... Yes, it's way up from the 3.5 cent level in 2009, but i seriously wonder how high it can go without those access rights resolved. Meanwhile, the development of their other properties continues....

Here are a couple of recent posts from Stockhouse.com on ORM clarifying the rights matter....

----------------------
4/14/11 by Speedkills: The only drawback to this name is no access rights to their main property [Tejamen]. Until this is decided on by the Government (between two parties... Oremex not being one) their mineral rights’ fair value is being held back. They will pretty much have a gun to their head in negotiating access IMO.

4/14 by EasyMoola: The surface rights issue is in every quarterly Managment Discussion Analysis report since...forever! See investor section of their website.
Taken from the Q3 2010 Interim Management and Discussion Analysis:

"In 2007, the Company’s surface access rights agreement expired. The federal government of Mexico holds the surface rights and through the Reforma Agraria began a process in 2009 to award the surface access rights. The Company can begin negotiations with the rights holders once the award has been made. This decision is expected at any time although no formal time line has been provided."

-------------

Well, here it is 6 months later and no resolve to the matter.
At the co.'s own website, at the Tejamen "Property Description" section at http://oremex.com/Projects/Tejamen/PropertyDescription/default.aspx
the last paragraph must be well over 3 years old. Where's an update saying they've still had no success with this matter?

"During the second quarter of 2007, the Company announced the appointment of Javier Rojas as Project Development Manager for the Tejamen and the Company’s other projects in Mexico. Mr. Rojas has extensive mine development experience in Mexico.
Under guidance of the Company’s Project Development Manager and the new operating team in Mexico, discussions are ongoing with the Ejido of Tejamen for the right to access the surface for an extended term and for expanded use of the property to include mining. Oremex management believes that significant progress has been made, and they are optimistic that an agreement may be reached soon so that exploration drilling can recommence in the Spring of 2008."
