One must compare apples to apples when doing true price comparison.

BGreen - 30@18gal.= 540 total gallons - biodegradable - 17.94
Hefty - 36@4gal.= 144 total gallons - non-biodegradable - 3.99
Glad - 40@13gal. = 520 total gallons - non-bidegradable - 9.99
Glad compactor bags - case of 48@18gal. = 864 gallons - non-biodegradable 37.08

One has to buy approximately 4 boxes of Hefty to get close to Bgreen in total gallons 4x144= 576 for $15.94.

This breaks down to average cost per gallon for bgreen at $.033 cents per gallon vs Hefty per gallon cost at $.028 cents per gallon. Or a difference of $.005 cents per gallon more for biodegradable versus non-biodegradable.

For Glad bags, 9.99 with febreeze scent added. Per gallon cost approx. $.019 or difference of $.014 cents per gallon.

In comparison to Hefty, one could easily justify to go with Bgreen. In comparison to Glad, the jury is out pending one's passion for going green. about a 40% difference. In todays economy, one would probably go Glad, except in California. Not certain if the law affects plastic garbage bags.

But when one actually compares apples to apples glad compactor($.043 cents per gallon) to bgreen compactor($.033 cents per gallon), bgreen wins hands down with a full $.01 cents per gallon with biodegradable feature.

Of course prices may vary pending location, coupons and discounts which can lower the cost per bag. As laws continue to change about plastic vs biodegradable plastic, bgreen at this time is the only game in town, to my knowledge.

I did find a product OXO biodegradable bags but it takes approx 2 years to biodegrade. When I have a little more time will continue providing cost comparisons.
