A friend of mine spoke with Patice. Here is a copy of the conversation as posted on another Avanir board. The follow up post will have a copy of the IBD article referred in this.
Sent a copy of my prior post concerning the lack publication in other areas concerning such a good feat by Avanir.
Patrice stated that Novartis didn't even put out a PR on it. that it isn't unusual for biotech firms in their area not to have the news in other areas. She used my area as an example to show that while we get news on certain pharmaceuticals in are area, they don't get it out their unless it is a firm like J & J or QSK. Just something we have to live with until Avanir gets bigger and better well known.
She did state Avanir was in the Investor's Business Daily and will soon be in an article featured in the New York Times. Patrice was kind to email me a copy of the IBD article and I will include that in a follow up post.
Patrice stated Avanir has also been in BioWorld and BioCentury and, hopefully will again be featured in them.
Now there is news coming which she would with a little only coyness in her voice mention but, would go no further.
Patrice also stated that the Novartis news shouldn't have been unexpected as they did mention them and their ongoing negotiations at times. It indeed was a good deal and of course they hoped for better results market wise but, that unfortunately is the times we live in.
They are working hard at Avanir and the recognition is coming as this recent deal has shown.
