Correct, there are multiple dyes/ligands (fluorescent, near infrared, etc.) that are injected via IV during an MRI that specifically bind to the cannabinoid receptors all over the body. Advances in technology have brought us PET and SPECT which provide further in-depth imaging of these receptors.
