Why no traditional bank bidders? Probably because of its unusual structure. The Chicago Tribune describes Corus as a real estate investment trust with a bank as a side business. So basic banks are likely not listening to the Corus sales pitches. But REITs (real estate investment trusts) and private equity firms probably are.
