catastrophic as a plunging USD might be, it makes US exports much more attractive to foreign consumers. how ironic is it that china's growing middle class might start buying a lot of cheap US goods?

and yes, i'm sure US consumption of copper and other metals will increase if that trend starts to develop. it's certainly a mixed blessing, but maybe the collapse of USD will spur a new wave of industrial production. that would equate to jobs, oddly enough.
