Well you know its gonna be soon. Here in Oregon we have started a petition to tax and regulate. Its called "Oregon Cannabis Tax Act" because polling shows voters support taxing what they see as a sin tax.

It is modeled after the beer and wine industry, and is a constitutional change. Paul Stanford, who is proposing the initiative, has been trying since 1984 to pass some sort of legalization. He has a very good chance this time.

Spineless politicians are too scared to do it, so it must come from citizen initiative.

As a lawyer recently pointed out to me and others, being in violation of federal law is still acts of criminal disobedience. In Washington, a bunch of dispensaries were raided recently.
