If you watch there video, it is crucial that it be set up right, the wrong angles will either wash the fine stuff away or trap too much crap so it is good that the guy who built it is there helping set it up. With the right set up it can capture most of the gold and REE's. The only question I had that is not shown is how are they going to move that much material, the dredge might be capable of moving that much but can they feed that much in or suck that much up from the river. It is a good and efficient way of mining and can produce great results and with the experts there I have no doubt they will do a good job once set up.
