For years now, Troy Lyndon has prided himself on being one of the most Transparent CEOs in the country, so if he'd said we have a funder, but he wishes to remain anonymous, bad enough, but that was one way, but he gave out the name of a phony Delaware Corporation that would not show up.

And he had no right to do that.

So yes, he lied, and opened to door to him having to come clean.
