Dave Matthews Band has finally appeared on the iTunes Music Store, with an
exclusive pre-release of the single "American Baby" now available for
download. That could be the start of a greater catalog offering, though
Apple will likely require the band to sell its songs individually. That was
originally a deal-breaker for the group, which prefers to sell its catalog
in full album format only. Napster landed an exclusive digital distribution
deal with the group in July of last year, with other stores like Sony
Connect eventually gaining access to the catalog. The group also sells album
downloads on its website, davematthewsband.com.
