I think that you missed the point of my post.

The point of my post had nothing to do with trying to determine whether a transaction is a buy or sell or whether the poster I was replying to was correct in his interpretation that recent transactions were sells.

My post was in response to a poster wondering if recent sells might be short covering. Regardless of whether the poster correctly interpreted these transactions as sells or not, my point was that a sell would not be a short cover, because a short cover is a buy, not a sell.
