The two Intel guys on EDIG Board were senior VPs before retiring and joing EDIG...
That is the classic method of INTEL nurturing companies they think will help with INTEL business plan of being the dominent chip maker in the world, (see, Andy Grover's Book called "Only The Paranoid Survive".) He was the ex CEO of Intel who saw Intel through, during the 80's when they were driven to the verge of becoming a second rate chip maker by the Japanese.
He has a chapter in the book about facing competition by nurturing companies who can help with Intel's business growth,
by placing a senior VP of INTEL on the Board of said companies to help them grow and prosper...
That is precisely what INTEL did in EDIG's case. They put two of their best Senior VPs on EDIG board to oversee its growth, and when the capital markets collaped, drying up the prospects of OEMs for EDIG, they announced their leaving the consumer electronic market, bought $60 to 80 mmillion in gizmos with EDIG in them, from the Korean manufacturers, to sell, and focused on getting the technology ready for what Cometa is about to do now...
$60-80 million for INTEL is less than parking meter change, and there is no reason to beleive that (a) INTEL and EDIG have nothing else to do with EACH other, or(b) when COMETA gets its plan for a universal broadband internet connectivty off the ground, permitting massive digital data tranmsission on the internet, EDIG will not be right in the thick of things, finally, becoming the "Global Standard" that all the longs with some serious DD have been hoping it would become...
