FLEMINGTON, NJ -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 03/29/11 -- Ken Glynn , President and CEO of GreenSmart Stores and Kenergy Scientific, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: KNSC), today reported the following progress for the past month:
Garden State GreenFest at Kean University was a great success. Ken received the Garden State Green Award of 2011 for Private Citizen based on his alternative energy inventions and his creation of GreenSmart Store concepts). He also lectured on "Inventing Green" to college students and professors, and co-hosted the Solar Car Races. Sales from the triple booth were very favorable. About 70% of attendees were wowed by at least one product, sales buy-rate exceeded expectations and the experience revealed surprising consumer preferences, data that will influence future shows and the new store layout. GreenSmart Store will attend at least four new Green Expos in the next two months.
GreenSmart Store of Flemington, New Jersey continues to progress. Architectural submissions are completed and store shelving has been purchased, as well as thousands of product units now in inventory. Outdoor signage is being planned as is billboard advertising. The Grand Opening is scheduled for July 7th , with promotions on July 8th , 9th and 10th. A number of non-competing businesses have requested in-store commissioned promotions and/or a Grand Opening Co-Promotion.
Franchising is moving forward, as the New Hampshire and Boston franchise discussions continue. Ken was approached by newly interested potential franchisees after the GreenFest exposure, and preliminary discussions are under way for Red Bank, New Jersey ; Morris County, New Jersey and Atlantic City, New Jersey . Ken will meet with a group of Atlantic City investors on Friday and will then attend the International Franchising Expo this weekend in Washington, DC .
Completion of the I Won It Live Agreement is expected shortly and co-marketing plans are in progress.
