US Air is quite small. Liquidating US Air will not solve the problems of the airline industry IMO. Now, liquidating UAL, the #2 airline, is a different story. But I don't think anyone is about to do that quite yet. Instead by filing bankruptcy they get to reorganize their debt and will give fits to Delta and American. But I agree that if you were to liquidate both UAL and US Air then that would be good for the airline industry. But I don't think that's about to happen quite yet...
