1 Tysabri patients who test negative can continue on the drug with less paranoia.

2 Those who test positive have a reason to take a break.

and

3 I would expect the neurologist and patients in the group that decide to continue on Tysabri in spite of a positive test will be more on guard for any symptoms of PML.
The earlier it is detected the better the chances are they can mitigate it's effects.
