The compression has been used in the military applications for a while. check this out from rb

factual news "Video Crunch Compression was developed to address real-world challenges in transmitting and storing digital video files. The software uses a revolutionary video compression process integrating artificial intelligence (AI)-derived algorithmic analysis and enhanced compression of video content. Using ONYX Symbolic Transmittance Image Video (or STIV) format, this technology has capabilities not available in other video coder-decoders (CODECs), including compression that is unmatched by any other video standard."

Remember the ONYX boys are all former aerospace and defense engineers. Name one real-world challenge that fits this description. A military piece of equipment that transmits video real time that has to be loss less picture. You see these things on the news all the time and in movies.

"this technology has capabilities not available in other video coder-decoders (CODECs), including compression that is unmatched by any other video standard."

That sentence is a real big clue that this is some serious military spec shzz that has been proven in the harshest testing ground available.

Anyone got any clue as to what military application would have been using this kind of compression for a while?
