Eric - thank you very much for your work and I have almost the same feeling as a Chinese. Actually CCME is my first Chinese stock and it really hurts me not financially but emotionally. I thought I did the DD and may have found another NETEASE back 10 years ago.
Also as a Chinese, I am less optimistic than many other longs who blame me being negative and whining.
The difference between us two is that I do not count on the Buddhist CEO's conscience, or actually I have seen so many thugs in China pretend to be Buddhists. Instead, they are more subject to external forces for instance lawsuits. They are smart enough to understand the following facts
1. if they crush the shorts, it is just and they will be hailed as heros
2. if they walk away, they will be stuck in endless lawsuits.
Personally I do believe the CCME model is viable and robust, so if the threat is meaningful and serious enough, they may think about it.
Hope the CEO has some smart advisors.
