I have argued for a long time that Gingrich is the most qualified politician in America to become President.
Of course, being a long term politician is in itself an indication that he is flawed, and he is. So he is the best of a class of flawed candidates for the job.
Gingrich is the "anti-obama" -- the antithesis of all that obama embodies. He is extremely qualified by his extensive knowledge and understanding of world events and his deep knowledge of history. Moreover, he is one of the most intelligent people in government.
But he does have "baggage" in his personal life that is disturbing and which will make it difficult for him to get elected -- and the MSM media will use that baggage against him to the utmost of their ability.
Christie may or may not help Gingrich with the voters -- I do not know. What I do know about the man is the way he has handled his job as governor to this point, and I am very impressed so far. He has expressed zero interest in running for President with almost Sherman like emphasis and I believe him. Like Palin, I do not think that he is qualified to be President at this time, although with time he may get there.
I seriously doubt that he would want the job of being VP -- the VP office is a step down for serious governor unless the sitting President dies in office.
But looking at the man, you are right -- a box of twinkies might help entice him.
