JPetronInc - great article... it sure looks like GPS will open up a gold mine for Google. I'm curious you or anyone on this board will know if or how Neom will benefit from GPS. My understanding (and very limited at best) is that Neom will make money through advertisers paying for registering words, logos, barcodes, RFID tags, etc. which link to their websites... does that run counter to advertisers using GPS to track consumers?... or is it two very separate marketing avenues? Does Neom stand to gain with the advance of GPS tracking of cell phones?

Regarding neom's patents: do they have the patent on the idea of linking barcodes and physical objects to the internet, or is the patent on a particular application (paperclick?) which performs that function? Do their patents only revolve around cell phones or does it include other devices (computers, scanners, etc.) I tried reading the patents on their site, but don't really understand it all that well. I'm not at all familiar with Patents, but always thought that one can only patent an invention and not just an "idea." And has any other company in the past or present tried to pursue the idea of physical world to internet?

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks.
