I paid my brother in law $1600. He was in DAllas doing some IT work and went by some warehouse where a Frenchman with 4 day beard stubble smoking a cigarette sold him the laptop. The guy had a warehouse full of electronic stuff and said he was into imports and exports. SAid he bought 6 for his company and did not need them. Seems a little shady, eh ?
Yes, heavy as in kilos.
I have the 15.25" screen, the G15 is 17 inches, very nice but too big for me and I am told taking it on a plane and dealing with the seat back tray makes it impossible to use. I think PC magazine liked the E10 version, smaller screen I think, but still heavy.
The built in wireless is very nice. I was amazed at how many unsecured broadband wireless internet access points there are nearby. It's CRAZY. I could save $50/month by just using one of my neighbors' networks to get to the net. They'd pick the day I want out of a position in a hurray as the day they implement some security though, so I passed on the thought. That and it would not be an appropriate thing to do. I here you laughing, she will not steal internet access but feels comfortable buying a sweet deal of a laptop from some sinister looking Frenchman selling electronics from a warehouse of a store front. Guilty.
