Biography
Jaret Lee is a PhD student in the Department of Electronic Materials Engineering, Research School of Physics and Engineering, at the Australian National University.
He received his undergraduate education from Cornell University and Rice University, where he majored in Electrical Engineering. During his time at Rice, he was a member of Junichiro Kono Laboratory where he built a polarization-sensitive device to study the magnetic alignment of single-walled carbon nanotubes. He later finished his MS in Electrical Engineering, focusing on compound semiconductor materials, at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He was a recipient of the NSF NanoJapan and JETRO Internship fellowship which enabled him to be a summer scholar in Dr. Sumio Iijima's Nanotube Research Center at AIST (Japan) and NTT Photonics Labs (Japan), respectively. In 2009, he received the NanoJapan Alumni award to intern in Elionix, an e-beam lithography company, where he optimized a double-layer resist metal liftoff process. In 2009, he joined KAUST PV Center to work on solar energy research with Prof. Ghassan Jabbour. Since January 2011, he has been working on developing GaAs arrayed nanowire solar cells at ANU after being awarded an Australian Postgraduate Award.
