Anything "good" coming out of the conferences will be based on spin, not fact, and the messages will be littered with words like "we hope", "we think", "we might" rather than any hard data. The TXN blurb this afternoon was a good example - guided to a slightly smaller DECLINE in sequential revenues from what they had just told us a month ago. For a chip or equipment company, that is never good news, only less bad and brings to mind Phil Fulmer's comment on his UT recievers this weekend - "they have made some progress - they were terrible, now they are just awful."
And yes, today was a very pleasant "week", the best I have had in a while. Hope we can put several of those together.
