You are not quite accurate. You are implying that ST is "profiting" from the situation. That is absolutely false. They are trying to minimize losses. As far as profiting from honest mistakes, my position is and always has been that there is a difference between an honest mistake and a premeditated plan to defraud or take advantage. I have also stated that someone trying to take advantage of a situation like this is in many ways no better than the "evil ST" that they choose to berate. I don't go for the hypocrisy that permeates our society today where it's ok for me to act in a certain way but the other guy has to follow different rules because he doesn't happen to agree with me. I also don't consider ST to be 100% responsible for the situation. Those who saw their account balances in the millions and sold what wasn't theirs must share some of the blame, as well as Knight who was also playing the greed game. ST did not place the sell orders, and they acted immediately to correct it when it happened. Many have the mentality that nothing is their fault when they can shift the blame. That attitude also permeates our society. I don't buy that either. We need to grow up and take responsibility for our actions instead of trying to justify them and make excuses.
