Baldrick: in edit: Apple has a Customer Relations department and appeals can be made there if anyone feels they haven't received proper treatment of any kind. Most of the time they really do help.

Original post: I haven't read it either but Apple usually refuses to fix things they consider to have been abused and it's difficult to argue with that.

Once, I had a heavy door fall on a 23" Cinema Display and there were crazings in the screen. I sent it in and they refused to fix it under AppleCare. I had to sell it for a pittance on eBay, because they either wouldn't repair it or the repair was as expensive as a new display. I couldn't argue with them because I know it had been subject to accident.

If the pPod screen was smashed it's really hard to claim it came that way after owning it for a few weeks, and to make a case for Apple covering it.

If the UK has laws to make Apple do it, I should probably move there. :)

I got shot off my horse. So what? I'm up again. Mark Knopfler
