Is it completely impossible to blend TA & FA in some manner so that the sum is greater then the two parts?

I don't see why there has to be this great dividing line between those who use TA and those who use FA. Both have positive uses, both ahve strehgths and both have weaknesses..

Is there anyone who has found the right balance and can explain it?
