Not really...
As an asset to a foundry (TSMC, Chartered, UMC) AMD is worth exactly book value with very little value placed on their IP. The foundries do not have the infrastructure necessary to take advantage of the X86 IP that AMD has developed. I do not really see any synergies between the businesses. I think the only way this would happen is if AMD decided to sell off their IC production capacity to the foundries, and leave themselves in a similar position to what transmeta had... and we all know how that turned outsmile
