Not "specifically" - take a look at what the FDA has done in food safety...it's easy to cheer for pols who want to cut funds/abolish gov't agencies, but they usually do it for THEIR good, not ours - for example, the latest push to cut funds for the SEC. If the SEC was fully staffed and doing it's job during the past decade, the financial meltdown MIDDLE AMERICA is STILL suffering through would not have been so severe...but fully staffing/funding the SEC unsettles Wall Street, and WS $$$ go to pol campaigns - of both parties.
