Honestly, I can not understand why somebody has not tried to buy up Ariad.
Even if they are absolutely petrified of Harvey it certainly would not hurt to at least open negotiations.
This is the only mechanism that would reveal Ariad's true value. Merck could do worse.
Not to pick on Merck but there are two very impressive compounds coming forward.
They have the cash, it appears that they don't have the balls.
