Electronic Trading Solutions

Direct Market Access ("DMA") permits our clients to electronically send their equity orders directly to an execution venue for an agency execution without any intervention or extraneous time delay. DMA empowers our clients with rapid transit to market while providing high degrees of order flexibility, to yield efficient executions.

E*TRADE Capital Markets DMA clients include Hedge Funds, Fund Managers, and Broker/Dealers. These clients execute electronic orders in 18 global markets, and nearly all of the ECN's and regional exchanges. We offer a proprietary dealing solution based on a robust technological platform that can handle single, 'one-off' order entries as well as equity portfolio basket orders. Additionally, our execution services can be accessed via FIX connectivity as well as through numerous third party networks and vendors. Client support for all aspects of the DMA business (technology, operating instruction, dealing, and settlement issues) is provided by our local offices in the major global financial centers.

Market Making Solutions

E*TRADE Capital Markets-Execution Services is comprised of both U.S. Listed and OTC market making desks, as well as a Brokerage Services desk, all located on the Chicago Stock Exchange.
We offer Listed Market Making on the National Stock Exchange, and Third Market Execution Services for NASDAQ NMS, NASDAQ Smallcap, Bulletin Board and Pink Sheets Issues. In addition, ETCM's International Market Making desk makes markets in 2000 Canadian Issues, over 800 Level 1 ADRs, and over 1000 Foreign Ordinaries.

Our International Market Making (IMM) division ensures you liquidity and execution at the inside price for an extensive list of pink sheet, grey sheet securities, and foreign ordinaries.

For securities not in the Electronic Pink Sheets, IMM will call two (2) other market makers and obtain two-sided markets for those securities in order to execute your orders at the BBO. IMM records all trades and reports, which are archived and retained for 3 years. IMM provides end-of-day downloadable reports, which are available to customers in a variety of formats. IMM maintains execution summary records for the past 90 days for customers to retrieve their orders and execution information by issue, trade date, or by branch and sequence numbers.

To assure a quality execution, IMM provides you with real-time, on-line access to the 3 quotes and depth of market pertaining to your trades. We accept stop orders, limit orders, sell-short orders, overnight local market orders, good-until-cancelled orders, good-until-date orders, minimum orders, and all-or-none orders. We can accept orders via BNET, ACES, FIX connection, Internet, and phone.

Trade reporting can be broken down to display each trade in a regional summary or by fund. Every client can therefore see the soft commissions generated in each market in which they trade. Since every firm's needs are different, E*TRADE Capital Markets can customize statements to the client's request.

On-line Administration

The E*TRADE Capital Markets Web site has been designed to give clients secure access to their trading account 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Clients are able to perform a variety of administrative functions, including view monthly statements, check account balances, review commission rates, calculate the level of commission required to pay for a research product, and view and print research payment reports.
