ELmer: Please make the case that Intel needs a hail Mary.

OK, I will, provided that you make a case for AMD needing a "hail Mary" at the time that the Hammer design was announced. Times were a bit different then, and AMD was on top of the world. Hammer was by no means intended to be a "hail Mary" product - although it looks like it might be after all. Hammer was meant as a "gorilla killer".

Incidentally, I have, on several occasions, tried to start a discussion about strained silicon and how the Intel transition might go. You guys seem to have no interest in discussing it. I am not sure if that is because you have your heads in the sand, or becasue it has nothing to do with bashing AMD.
