The answer is easy. Hammer is a poor design and AMD's SOI process doesn't work. The two factors combine to produce Hammer slow clock speed and poor performance, so poor that the Hammer can not be released.

So, despite significant critical acclaim for Hammer's design, we are to believe you when you say it is a poor design. Do you have more to support that position besides your proclamation?

Let's also apply your reasoning to Itanium, shall we? Since it was more than 10 years in the making, and was delayed year, after year, after year, after year, after year, then, by your reasoning, it must be the worst design in the history of the industry.
