Good question. I used to always wonder that myself. At the end of the trading day on penny stocks many MM's erase their Bid/Ask thus you will many times see a large gap between the two as is such the case that you saw. It means nothing for the following day and everything gets back on track in the AM as the MM's begin posting their sell/buy prices. Good luck to you. Hang in there on this one.
