No one is suggesting SNRS would be the one supplying for an internal iphone 5 solar charger. If you think rationally about this, the solar chargers are a first step for this product. Couple that with a contract with Verizon/Apple speaks for itself. Perhaps Apple/Verizon want two ways to market solar charging for their products, one via cover charges and one down the road as an internal solar charger. My guess would be the internal charger will ramp up the price of the phone considerably. Couple that with the fact that the iphone is on the expensive side as it is it would make sense to offer a third party "Apple/vz approved" product to net you the same result, all packaged at a fraction of what it would cost to house solar charging internally on the phone.
