Stills,

Movie distributors typically split the box office take with the Theaters. The percentages may be a bit different during different weeks in release such as 1st week distributor gets 60% and theater operator gets 40%. The 2nd week probably evens out more to 50/50, the the third week the theater may get the higher percentage of a possible 60/40 split.

However for ease of us figure our potential revenue a 50/50 split is a safe assumption for us to use. So if turtle was able to get $30 million we could count on about $15 million, then minus the P&A costs from that, and say we are left with $14 million, then you have to subtract a percentage of our take that would go to the producers, which I don't think is 50/50 but we will us that as an example. After 50/50 with the producers we would be left with $7 milllion cash money, that could then be used to go and buy more films.

Then the same thing occurs when they sell the DVD and blueray in retail. Say a $20 DVD do about a 50/50 split, then of our $10 subtract the costs to produce and ship the product of say $2 (I don't think it is that high), and we are left with $8 to split with the producers who made the movie. So if Turtle sells a million copies then we get $4 million and made a total of $11 million in profit off of the turtle film.

Hopefully my explanation makes sense! Cause I typed it from my phone. LOL
