Off the top of my head, I can think of 3 ways to reduce the float:
1. the company can have a share buyback or repurchase
2. the company can retire shares
3. the company can reverse split

Obviously, the first 2 ways are very good for the stock while the 3rd is not so good. I'd love to hear other people's thoughts as well.

It'll cost you nothing to dream. It'll cost you EVERYTHING not to.
