Well, just so we're being clear...

The logic you choose to develop and apply as a method in your own trading... has almost zero relationship to the logic that does apply in reality when others are considering other things in some larger context, as, say, when management is considering how best to approach managing a company to deliver success and value for the shareholders, or when investors and regulators are considering how they should and will tend to deal with problems they perceive in the market, or in a company, when a management acts in clear self interest, rather than properly in fiduciary interest...

Traders logic is different than investors logic... which is different than management logic, or that of market regulators.

I think there is plenty enough here for you to look at, in terms of history, that properly conditions what you might expect of FECOF management.

The Philex guys have bought up other companies they've owned... a Canadian traded gold miner most recently, bought in without recourse at a price that was about twice what the market valued it at when the deal was done... just prior to the gold market taking off and running.

It looks like there is also a history with Philex having tried already to buy out Forum Energy some years back...

There is also a reason or two to think there were probably some good reasons why Philex did diversify their ownership in the ways they have... putting some shared ownership in a base with Forum in London, and some bit in Canada (and the U.S.) with FECOF.

At the same time, particularly now, it seems there is not a shortage of potentials for Philex, for FECOF, and for others... to find interesting ways to expand their participation in the development of the oil and natural gas resources in the PI.

I guess what I find most dis-satisfying in the efforts to dance around the issue here, is that no one here appears to have made any real effort to try to define what the Philex/FECOF managements likely interest IS... before launching off on assuming that still undefined interest, or set of interests, will best be met by them doing this, or that.
