Let's dispense witht he bluster.

I appreciate the concept of freindship and loyalty. I also agree with other posters that the personnel basis for owning shares in this company preferntially lies with Shannon, not Marshall.

If Dr. Shannon were to do as you suggest, he betrays the millions of people who would be ill or die as a result of this technology not coming to market. While I don't think he'd relish making the choice, I doubt his value system would honor friendship of one over the lives of millions.

Finally, if he were to make the choice you suggest, let's not forget who the owner of the patents is.
