If a person were negative on a stock JUST BECAUSE it was the most popular on this board, then in effect, they are saying that this board is a contrary indicator. If a person believes that, then they have zero respect for the posters on the board.
In theory, I agree 100% with the idea that if something is loved by everyone it is DEFINITELY the time to sell, but that is in a universe of investors that include (hopefully) 99% of the bozos. Obviously, we consider ourselves enlightened - investing in value microcaps with the benefit of having each other all doing research in a format for intelligent (less Koz - Barney Fife) discourse.
If a stock truly depended upon "us" to go up, then there could be an argument that if we all loved it, then it could be at a high. But, overall, I have to believe that if we all love it, there is probably a pretty darn good reason for it. It is the rest of the market that hasn't fallen in love with it yet. When that finally happens, hopefully, we sell out.
