"...history tells us that nothing is impossible, when it comes to money. Confiscation of gold (your correct in not including silver for now) has happened through crazy amendments to the Constitution..."

This aligns with my objection to government. That is, when it perpetually grows bigger, bolder and more aggressively 'controlling.' To be sure, we the people are still in charge on paper. It's up to us to elect people to Congress to keep the police state in check. Trouble is, many get corrupted and bought out by special interests. They vote themselves big pay raises, special pensions and so forth. If indeed government seizes gold and silver in exchange for their flood of fiat, then it will mean even more power to government and the bankers/top corporations running the show. More bonuses and money for them. More of a decline of the middle class here. Forced austerity. Eventually the people, when short on food due to inflation, rise up like they are in Egypt. That can happen here and it should if we get to the point where government is repressive and completely unresponsive to the people.

The money system is getting increasingly untenable. It benefits a few at the top. The rest of us get savings stolen by inflation unless we own gold and silver. So government goes after the gold and silver--stealing like Roosevelt did? That's when the people should go into non-compliance mode. If we keep giving in to government caprice and tyranny, we'll get what we deserve.

Everything is made in China these days. The workers there get paid a pittance. The profits go to the top in America. CEOs make many times over what the workers here make and those that have a job must work harder to make up for those who got laid off. If government must get busy with laws and rules, they should start with protecting Americans. Start erecting tariffs on Chinese junk. Bring jobs and industry back to this country. Bring the military home from overseas bases and have them guard the southern border.

I doubt the government will ever confiscate silver by executive order. If it does get to that point, they will seize silver mines crying 'national emergency.' Sounds like something Venezuela would do, but after all...we are drifting toward a banana republic.
