I live in a rural area in the northeast, and many people still rely on "antenna" television in these areas. When the FCC took back these TV frequencies, and implemented the switch to digital TV, it was a huge inconvenience to the public, and the local TV transmitting stations. The Govt issued/subsidized millions of dollars worth of new digital reciever equipment to all who requested. And not to mention the money the gov spent updating the transmitters. IMO for the govt to go thru this huge costly and inconvienient transition , so that the FCC could get these "white spaces" frequencies for super wi-fi IMO is HUGE..
