I have no problem with citizens that do not vote. It makes my vote that much more important. I do have a problem with citizens who are uniformed (which is the vast majority). It's the uninformed citizen who allows sleazy politicians to progress through the system. Unfortunately many of these uninformed citizens turn into ideologues and vote straight party tickets as it's "easier than thinking." I have very little hope that his will change unless we change our educational system to now include courses like - Civics or Citizenship. Until that time the sound bite rules.

However we can I think try to go back to what our founding fathers wanted - not professional politicians. Limit the number of consecutive years that a politician can hold elective office at the Federal level to no more than 8 and then they need to take at least four years off.
