This is all getting very interesting to me now that I found this on a search of GYPH news release.

Sorry but this is on topic.
I believe that Itronics is supposed to have the technology to both remove, and detoxify the leach heap. The way I understood that technology, the goo normally used for fert. production could be used instead to neutralize the cyanide.
The view I had was that the potential for this process was HUGE.
One of the reasons I stated prior was the leftover ore that was not completely leached out. Note above info. on the reality, and how gyph and ashanti are capitalizing on this now very lucrative mining.

PM leaching process defined:
The crushed ore is irrigated with a dilute cyanide solution. The solution percolates through the heap and leaches out the precious metal. This can take several weeks.

The solution containing the precious metals ("pregnant solution") continues percolating through the crushed ore until it reaches the liner at the bottom of the heap where it drains into a storage (pregnant solution) pond. After separating the precious metals from the pregnant solution, the dilute cyanide solution (now called "barren solution") is normally re-used in the heap-leach-process or occasionally sent to an industrial water treatment facility where the residual cyanide is treated and residual metals are removed. In very high rainfall areas such as the tropics, in some cases there is surplus water that is then discharged to the environment, after treatment, posing possible water pollution if treatment is not properly carried out.[citation needed]

The production of one gold ring through this method, can generate 20 tons of waste material.[2]

During the extraction phase, the gold ions form complex ions with the cyanide:

Au^+ (s) + 2CN^- (aq) \rightarrow Au(CN)_2^- (aq)

Recuperation of the gold is readily achieved with a redox-reaction:

2 Au(CN)_2^- (aq) + Zn (s) \rightarrow Zn(CN)_4^- (aq) + 2 Au (s)

The most common methods to remove the gold from solution are either using activated carbon to selectively absorb it, or the Merrill-Crowe process where zinc powder is added to cause a precipitation of gold and zinc. The fine product can be either doré (gold-silver bars) or zinc-gold sludge that is then refined elsewhere.

So exactly what is going on behind the scenes at ITRO?
Are we to enter as another player in the processing of ore leach piles?
IF this process used the goo and was effective at removal of G & S and cyanide.....and would require large amounts of the goo from silver recovery circuit already running.....then this could be quite lucrative for ITRO as well. Remember that it seems the goo has shelf life restrictions, and limits the silver recovery amounts. With a process that may use large amounts of the goo, the silver recovery would be much greater, and as shown above, the recovery from the leach piles is astounding as well. Auric on top of that! ? !
Someone has to know if this thought process is correct.
