The constant speed drive system is an engine which always runs at its maximum efficiency point, normally at about 70 percent of the highest speed. The required output speed is achieved by adjusting the outflow of fluid from a planetary gear box connected to the engine. The accelerator pedal at present connected to the carburettor or fuel pump would be replaced and connected to the fluid valve in the new design. "In the case of the constant speed drive system, the turbo charger connected to the engine will be always running at maximum speed and can accelerate the vehicle quickly. In the existing systems, the turbo charger has to pick up speed gradually along with the engine speed which takes time and obviously delays acceleration. The microprocessor control system enables the power train to pick up the exact gear ratio to suit the load condition, resulting in about 10 to 15 percent reduction in fuel consumption and 90 percent less pollution.
